One concern of many brides is dressing their bridal party. This is important because they are one of the most visible parts of the wedding. This makes it important to find clothes in styles and colors that not only match the autumn theme of the wedding but also help each member of the bridal party look their best. It is also a great opportunity for the bride to add unique touches to the her bridal party that will help make the ceremony look more spectacular and memorable. Here are some tips and ideas for doing just that.

The bridesmaids are the first people in the bridal party that the bride needs to focus on. They traditionally were dresses so their clothing is the most colorful and visible out of the entire bridal party. Since this is fall a bride should make sure the colors match the fall color palette such as oranges, reds, and yellows. Another way to approach the choice of colors is to go for deep and rich jewel tones. In either case take into account what suits each of your bridesmaids the best.

A creative solution is to use the variety in fall colors to your advantage and have each of bridesmaids dress in the color that best suits them. You end with each of them looking their best and your get the added bonus of the impression of many fall leaves given by the complementing colors of each dress. For dress style simple designs are always the best. Try to choose a simple cocktail dress or similar design that should look uniform on everyone and flatter each persons figure.

The groomsmen also need some coordination but the job should be much simpler. The main concerns will be that everyone has similar style suits or tuxedos and that they fit. For the flare of fall color you should focus on the bowties, cravats, or ascots as well as the vests or cummerbunds. The same color palette that you used for the bridesmaids should apply. If you take care of these details then your groomsmen should be more than ready for their duties during the ceremony.

Now we focus on the flower girl. The flower girl is highly visible due to her role as the person who precedes the bride as she proceeds down the aisle. She will also have a couple more accessories than other members of the bridal party. The first thing to take into consideration is the age of the flower girl. Normally she will be in the age range 4 to 9 years old with some rare instance where she is slightly older. You want to choose a dress that is age appropriate and is easy for her to move in. Most childrens dress address these by making them come about at the shins or knees. The dress color should match that of the bridesmaids. Normally it is not unusual for a flower girl to wear a wreath of flowers. For a fall wedding used fall blossoms such as late roses and mums for the wreath. You should also use this rule of thumb for the bouquet if she carries one or for choice of petals if she is carrying the traditional basket of flower petals.

Things Guys Do With Rose Petals

Alright if youre still young and naive or a born optimist or if you have reached middle years still with some vestiges of romantic illusion in tact or your just simply a hopeful, then I guess at this point your minds are busily conjuring visions of candle light dinners for two, gifts from whos wrappings beautifully scented fresh rose petals fall, as the paper is eagerly torn from its gift box, or even romantic trails of electric red rose petals that lead to a candle lit bed chamber and a luxurious four poster bed with many cushions on which even more petals have been cast. As these are things anyone with even a little romance still left in their souls pictures in their head at the mention of the word rose petal. Who doesnt think of the extremely beautiful, sentimental and traditional practice of the bridal throw, made up of either fresh or silk petals, cast as if romance itself is being strewn at the feet of the bridal pair as they leave the church to begin their life together as man and wife.

Obviously romance is not on the minds of all involved particularly some of Hollands commercial flower growers who seek to completely destroy all the romance of rose petals by turning them into novelty objects.

Rose petals that glow in the dark? Would you believe? Would you want them for your wedding? And where is the romance when they force the virginal white rose to drink dye from numerous colored dye bowls creating a single rose with rainbow petals looking rather like at least in my opinion that it has been part of some freak accident at a paint factory?

All these guys are thinking about is money and if the American bride can be suckered in to buying such garish blossoms in the mistaken belief that she is breaking new ground in the latest bridal trend. Thankfully these weird and wonderful experiments within the world of roses did not catch on here in North America to the same extent they did in Japan and China hopefully brides here were too discerning, but then again perhaps not as what does appear to have caught on is having printed rose petals. The latest trend is that all the petals that will form the bridal throw or serve as table decorations at the wedding reception will be printed with the happy couples names or in some cases even mini portraits of the happy pair.

OK I realize all brides want to create at least a little stir at their wedding having it remembered for trail blazing some new bridal trend but ladies please let your innate sense of good taste be your guides printed petals are tacky in the extreme, to allow rose petals one of a weddings greatest romantic symbols to be treated as no more than a mini billboard, is by its self a major crime, and then if that wasnt enough but to add insult to injury by having the newly married couple tread on each others smiling faces on these printed petals as they leave the church what kind of good luck omen of marital bliss and harmony does this provide none what so ever in my opinion.

Ladies please if youre going to include rose petals in your wedding festivities by choosing the latest weird and wonderful floral creation your just lining the pockets of the unromantic guys whose unfortunate minds come up with the newest tasteless floral fad youre only encouraging them to produce something weirder and wackier to lay in wait for next years crop of unsuspecting brides. Stand up for good taste and the romance of rose petals in their natural form.
